Supporting Dress for Success Cincinnati

Portaluca opened to the public as 4th Street Boutique in 2002 to sell women’s new and gently used clothing, shoes and accessories at affordable prices. It is the first in over 128 Dress for Success affiliates worldwide to have an earned income venture.  The proceeds support Dress for Success Cincinnati’s services to disadvantaged women. Today, the boutique has two locations, downtown and College Hill. The downtown boutique was originally located at 135 West 4th Street and quickly became known as a destination for women to find stylish clothing and accessories for less. Special sales and events, such as the Designer Sale, offer one-of-a-kind fashion finds and give customers a unique shopping experience in the vibrant downtown Cincinnati area. In May 2013 the boutique moved to a beautiful urban interior at 209 West 4thStreet between Elm and Plum on the ground floor of the Textile Building. The boutique is open to the public Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday & Saturday: 10:00 am – 3:00 pm, Thursday: 10:00 am – 6:00 pm. College Hill boutique opened its doors in 2011 in the College Hill Business District at 5838 Hamilton Ave. Customers can enjoy the friendly, neighborhood environment. The boutique is open to the public Wednesday, Thursday, Friday: 11:00 am – 6:00 pm, Saturday: 11:00 am – 4:00 pm. Donations can also be dropped off during business hours.

Every woman who comes to Dress for Success Cincinnati is treated with dignity and respect and can walk through our doors feeling confident and welcome. We focus on helping each woman prepare for the journey ahead of her. Our concern is not where our clients have been but rather where they are going. Shortly after Dress for Success Cincinnati was founded, we became well-known for providing suits to disadvantaged women returning to or entering the workforce. Many Dress for Success affiliates provide more than just a suit and also supply other pieces of clothing and accessories such as scarves, jewelry or other interview-appropriate items. Our goal is for each woman to leave Dress for Success Cincinnati with a complete outfit that will help her land a job.
